Ponta da Piedade
Our 2 ½ hr. kayak tours take you to discover the hidden caves and grottos along the coast. All our tours explore the stunning cliffs and sea arches of the Algarve.
Leaving the beach of Praia do Solaria, you will paddle along some famous beaches such as Praia dos Estudantes, Praia do Pinhal, Praia Dona Ana and Praia do Camilo.
The destination of the tour is the rock formations with the lighthouse on top, at the southern point of Lagos. Here we´ll visit caves with names such as “the living room”, “the kitchen”, “the cathedral”, “birth canal”, “the beautiful art room”, “the letter box” and “the love cave”.
On the way back we´ll stop for half an hour on the beach of “Praia Grande” where we´ll get out our snorkel equipment. Returning to Praia da Batata we´ll pass by rock formations with creative names, such as “wedding cake”, “King Kong” and “Michael Jackson”.
Snorkelling
Praia Dona Ana is considered one of the most beautiful beaches of Portugal. 200 metres further south we will find a similar secluded beach. The beach is a bit smaller, although it is called Praia Grande :). The good thing is that it is only reachable from the sea and therefore very quiet and peaceful. This is our beach to stop on our kayak tour, and get out the snorkel gear. This beach is quiet and surrounded by rock formations.
What is included on the Kayak Tours Lagos
Equipment
We provide all necessary equipment, including life jackets and paddles. On every kayak is a 40-litre waterproof bag available. There are lockers on the beach for your valuables. The clear waters of Lagos also make it a perfect spot for snorkelling, and we provide all the gear at no extra charge!
Briefing & Support Boat
All of our tours include a safety briefing, so all you have to do is show up ready for an adventure. At all times the group is accompanied by our dedicated support boat. Sometimes in the late afternoons, the wind might pick up at a certain point near the harbour entrance. Here we can help you with a tow, but it´s OK if you wish to conquer the wind your selves. The support boat then will just stay nearby for your safety.
What you need to bring
All you need to bring on this 2 ½ hr. trip is the following:
- your swimsuit and a small towel
- sun protection such as sun protector cream factor 30 or higher
- a bottle of water,
- a hat,
- dry clothes.
